The Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has thrown his weight behind the Nigerian youths; who are calling for an end to police brutality in the country.
Kalu, a former governor of Abia State, expressed his feelings in a statement in Abuja on Thursday.
The Senator, who represents Abia North,  condemned the criminal abuse of power by officers of the proscribed Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad, stressing that such an act must stop.
He said,  "The major responsibility of the Nigerian police is to ensure that they protect the lives and property of the citizenry".
