Femi Gbajabiamila, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, has condemned the killing of over 40 farmers by Boko Haram in Borno State.

Gbajabiamila called for more military action against Boko Haram insurgents, adding that the lives of the farmers should not go in vain.

It was reported that Boko Haram had killed some farmers on rice fields at Zabarmari, in Jere Local Government of Borno State.

The terrorists beheaded the farmers on Saturday night in Zabarmari, less than 20 km from Maiduguri.

Reacting to the massacre, Gbajabiamila, in a statement issued on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Lanre Lasisi, said, “It’s unfortunate that about 50 of our countrymen lost their lives to the barbaric and inhuman action of the insurgents at this time.

Quote
“This incident is one too many for us as a country. Here were innocent citizens going about their lives looking for their daily bread to cater for their families, but were murdered in a most gruesome manner.

“Their lives should not go in vain. This should call for more action from our military.

“My heart goes out to the families of the murdered farmers.”

Someone will steal a fowl in the south, you will give him 2yrs in prison, but people were being killed by BH in the North, when they are caught, you celebrate them.
