Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed has remarked on the murdering of 43 rice farmers by Boko  Haram radicals in Borno state throughout the end of the week.

Talking during a courtesy visit to Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state on Monday November 30, the clergyman said Nigeria is still helpless before terrorists since they are denied the capacity to buy weapons.

Lai Mohammed portrayed the executing as "unfortunate" and further expressed that the psychological oppressors use media and exposure as oxygen.

He said;

“When we talk about terrorism, people don’t seem to appreciate that terrorism is not a local issue, it is a global issue and there is no part of the world that doesn’t experience its own pocket of terrorism.

“But you must also note that we are dealing with terrorists who are financed globally and we also need more support from global partners. For instance, Nigeria has made an attempt to acquire a better and more effective platform to deal with terrorists but for one reason or the other we have been denied this platform, these weapons and without adequate weapons or platform we remain at the mercy of terrorists.

“You see fighting terrorists is not a joke because what actually happened in Borno State is unfortunate but you must also look at the strategy of the terrorists.

“Terrorists use media and publicity as oxygen, so when they go on this kind of mindless killing of people. It is not that the government is not doing enough. Terrorism whether in Afghanistan or anywhere in the world has the same concept, a group of people who are extremist in their thoughts who don’t think that you and me should be alive.”

Hmmm, Laid, you are not totally right. The arsenal we have in our possession is enough to annihilate Bokbo Haram and its supporters. You need the heart to deploy this arsenal; if you are ready to do that, because Enemy Within will get 'wet'.

No weapon to fight Boko-Haram, but there weapons to fight Lekki protesters. How many times has Nigeria borrowed money since this year, the monies recovered from yahoo-yahoo boys, Abacha loot, the ones recovered from politicians.
The money approved for rail from Niger to Nigeria will be able to purchase some sophisticated weapons, Mr Liar, is rail more important than national security? after all scale of preference matters. As minister of information give Nigerians information on the total money recovered since inception of APC government, and how they are apportioned for expenditure. Senate took 37 billion for renovation, yet they are owning their personal staff, the assembly is still in dilapidated state. It is a shame for un-co-ordinated government.
