With the continuous subordination of the essential for the non-essential over the Abuja lethal fireworks of October 1st, the centre of the nation’s political edifice is delicately swinging between anarchy and false quite.  The seemingly unconquerable Minotaur of ethnicity is on the prowl with renewed vim. Did one of the thespians in the current theatre of the absurd not say in 1992 that “those who quarrel over a house, the foundation of which is fast collapsing, can only with extreme charity be condemned for lack of wisdom”?
Truth be told, this troubled land is not yet on the right track. The over 300 responses from readers to our question say much more. They are not altogether tales told by idiots, full of sound and fury but signifying nothing, as the bard of blessed memory would say.

A large number wants Jonathan to continue but should be more circumspect in his utterances.
WHAT ARE YOUR OWN VIEWS?

Abeg make the guy kak 4 dere. Personally, am convinced that Joe is God's answer to our endless prayers, as a Nation, 4 a positive change. What is currently happening is just the work of mischief makers who would stop at nothing to keep our beloved Nigeria in the shadows of darkness. Abeg Joe, make u "dey Kampe" like ur predecessor...God dey ur side.

utterly nonsense!!!.  how can any well meaning Nigerian ask Mr President to resign now that elections re just around the corner?

those who re clamoring for his resignation re only the greedy politicians with no good intentions towards this country.. only care about what they re out to siphon from the national treasury.  criminals.

What do you expect from people who have lost their sense of reasoning? If they based their utteraces on what Okah said on Aljazeera television, are they saying that The President was guilty of the accusation? Did Okah mention the Governmjent official in question?  If their call was not going to be sentimental they would have asked the president to confirm or deny such story before they would give him the ultimatum to resign. But they have been beclouded by their lust for power while seeing Jonathan as their obstacle to realise their selfish ambition. They are the apostles of Zonning and ethnic jingoism. They want to make sure they create problems for this country.They should keep queit because PDP may actually be in the majority in the legislature but it is not a Northern Party. It belongs to all the PDP members throughout the country. Besides how can a handfull of intolerant people assume the power to command the two chambers to commence impeachment proceedings against a whole Nigerian President because of a frovolous and unfounded allegation and accusation? What an insult!!!.This has shown how far lust for power can make people commit blunders unresonably. Why are they so sure that PDP will win the 2011 election? Goodluck should 'stayput' and should make sure that he keeps his promise to give this country a free and fair election even if PDP will have to loose the next eleections. We are tired of these electoral vampires. We want our true representatives.

not well said and rejected totally , ifat all he should continue in the remaining few months or so , he owes us an apology and he need to guides his mouth and learns not to put the cat before the horse , nigeria need a dynamic leader , a forsight , energetic and inteligent , and not a dull and oportunist one , the one who will be able to carve out something out of almost noting , and not the one that will embezled our resourcess and turn us to a begging nation

@commonsense

I have perused your exchanges with Livingday on Naijapals and cannot help noting that you hardly say a word on any topic without insulting other contibutors. Your 'good president' is in office but what did you and your MEND colleagues do during 9ja @ 50 celebrations when global attention was focused on Nigeria? You callously and criminally bombed the occasion killing innocent Nigerians in a misunderstood notion of fighting for freedom. Do you have freedom to take Nigerian lives with impunity? Or do you want to bring down GJ? Is this what your so-called MEND is all about? If so, livingday is right to suggest fire for fire to wipe out MEND from their 'creek hideouts' - Aljazeera.

I am sorry for all of you who are clamoring for
Mr. President's resignation because he will not just
continue, but he will still be ruling us until 2015,
and I am pretty sure that all of you will hang
yourselves thereafter.

Enemies of progress.
