Akwa Ibom Court Grants N500k Bail To Deeper Life High School Principal & Six Others

The Magistrate’s Court in Uyo, Akwa-Ibom State capital has granted N500,000 bail each to the Principal of Deeper Life High School Uyo and six others over their involvement in alleged physical and segxwal abuse.

The principal and six others were arrested over their alleged involvement in the alleged physical and segxwal assault of an 11-year-old student of Deeper Life High School, Don Davis Achibong.

The state police command arraigned the principal, Mrs. Ndidi Solomon, and six others including Joseph Nseabasi, Akpan Johnson, Egor Wilson, Joseph Ikenna before the court over a segxwal assault case that has gone viral on social media for weeks.

The accused persons were arraigned on four charges bordering on segxwal molestation, maltreatment, starvation, and negligence.

The counsel to the accused persons applied for bail for them after the case was read and the Magistrate in charge of the Court then granted all the accused persons bail in the sum of N500,000 each while the two minors among them were released to their parents.

The case was then adjourned to January 20 for an accelerated hearing. The presiding Magistrate warned all parties involved in the case to avoid unguarded media comments that could negatively affect the court process.
