BREAKING: Nigerian Air Force Mourns Death Of Ex Chief Of Air Staff, Eduok Essien

The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Nigerian Air Force (NAF), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, has expressed sadness over the death of former Chief of the Air Staff, NAF, Air Marshal Nsikak-Abasi Essien Eduok (retired).

the Late Air Marshal Nsikak Eduok died on Wednesday at a hospital in Uyo, Akwa-Ibom State.

The late Air Marshal was the 12th CAS. Before becoming the 12th CAS, Air Marshal Eduok served as Air Officer Commanding, Tactical Air Command, Makurdi and as CAS .

The deceased also served as Minister for Aviation as a member of the Federal Executive Council on 20 March, 1995

Air Vice Marshall Ibikunle Daramola, Director of Public Relations and Information in a statement said during the late Air Marshal Eduok tenure as the CAS, he contributed immensely to the development and transformation of the NAF and made significant and considerable impact.

He noted that “His contributions even while in retirement would be sorely missed. His death is a monumental loss to the NAF family and indeed the entire Nation.

“May God Almighty comfort the entire Eduok family and grant them the fortitude to bear this great loss,”
the statement added.

According to him, Late Air Marshal Eduok was a seasoned pilot, who would be remembered for his forthrightness, integrity, dedication, simplicity and commitment to duty.
