The Kano State Executive Council has approved N245 million for the conduct of mass wedding statewide.
A statement signed by the state Commissioner for Information, Malam Muhammed Garbq and made available to newsmen disclosed this on Saturday.

The council also approved the release of N274.2 million to Kano Pillars FC to facilitate the smooth conduct of the 2020/2021 National Professional Football League season.

According to the statement, the Kano State Executive Council has also approved the release of N29. 3million for the 2020/2021 vaccination exercise in pastoral communities, which was suspended for three years because of the prevailing health risks and economic losses affecting some communities in the state.

In 2019 the state government had married off 1,500 couples drawn across the 44 local government areas of the state.

I'm sorry to say this, it just shows that this government is clueless.
With such an amount a factory can be set up or a green house farming facility for production all year round or a preservation factory for preserving of some perishable goods.
You are sponsoring wedding; how are they going to feed? When kids come how will they survive?
This is plain rubbish.
