N3.15million has been splashed on the Super Falcons for their win over the women Eagles of Mali at the on-going Africa Women Championship (AWC) holding in South Africa. Nigeria defeated her opponents 5-0 to top Group A. Each player got $1,000 from the Nigerian authorites, while the chief coach, Eucharia Uche, got double the amount.

A top source revealed to Daily Sunsports that the amount was jacked up to motivate the players to win the trophy which they missed two years ago. “Our goal is to recapture the cup that we missed two years ago. The girls need to be motivated to perform well, so anything that would make them win we have to do it,” said the official.

Initially, the girls use to get $500 in the group stage for a win. The amount would be increased as the team progresses to each round.

Nigeria has won the championship a record five times but must win this edition to qualify for the FIFA Women’s World Cup, holding next year June in Germany.
The former African champions would on Thursday face South Africa who defeated Tanzania 2-1.
Thursday’s match has been dubbed the final before the final by fans of both teams. It would be recalled two years ago, Nigerian struggled to defeat the South Africans by a lone goal.

Pls Nigeria government, stop seeing them as second class citizens. They have already achieved in a short time, with less resources what the super eagles has not been able to achieve for years with vast resources.

Up the Great Falcons. Up Super Falcons of Nigeria. Please don't mind the yeye government and the yeye and so called nfa. We the citizens are seeing what you girls are achieving. We are so very proud of you. The world is seeing you. Pls GO for it. You can make it happen for us again.

Up super Falcons of Nigeria. Up Nigeria Women. Women are wise, sensible and compassionate. They know how to do great things if they want. Men give up. You have tried severally and failed. Give Woman a chance. You political long throat. Sit down and let them teach you how to rule well.

$1000 is nothing! Especially when it's being given to more than one person. Are you serious? If it's nothing for one person so what is it going to do for a group of people? they should have given them the amount they gave the Eagles. A person spends that in a day so for them it's crap!
