President Muhammadu Buhari, along with his immediate family, joined some senior government officials on Thursday to observe the Eid prayer inside the Presidential Villa.
The President had said he would be observing a low-key Sallah celebration in the State House, along with his family.
Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, had in a statement said Buhari’s decision to pray in Aso Rock was in compliance with the COVID-19 non-pharmaceutical interventions measures put in place by the Presidential Steering Committee (PSC) and the Federal Capital Territory, administration to save lives and protect people from all dangers.
The President was joined in the prayers by the Senate President, Ahmed Lawan, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, the National Security Adviser (NSA), Major General Babagana Monguno (Rtd), Chief of Staff to the President, Professor Ibrahim Gambari and other personal aides, at the forecourt of the Presidential Villa, to observe the Eid prayer.
The First Lady, Aisha Buhari, was also seen praying with her daughters at the Forecourt of the Presidential Villa.
