The fish simply died of old age, the guys who got there first said it wasn't smelling. It started smelling half way on the second day because it was too big and could not be completely butchered immediately.

Some poeple has played prank by forcing the giant fish to our shore. By the way has any medical practitioner or researcher tried to take part of this fish for examination and has any agency marine, security etc done anything to find out the genesis of this fish predicament???

This has shown the degree of poverty, coupled with ignorance on the part of our people. What is the state ministry of health or the FGN  doing about this? In some civilized countries, people's assess would have been restricted until certification by the health authority. But in NIGERIA,nobody cares about the health implication of this. "ororo" in this instance is "omega 3" fish oil found in fish. The whale was beached due to being diseased and disorientated, hence could not find its way back to sea. Similar thing happened  at the Lagos beach near Eko holiday inn several years ago,when about a dozen dead whale beached at this location . People went there took chunks off the carcass to go home with. This was in the late sixties. It is definitely not safe to eat
