Chief of Staff to Gov. Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State, Muhammad Abdullahi has said 73 per cent of women in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State said that it was okay for a man to beat a woman.

He made the disclosure at the official launch of the 2021 State of the World Population Report by the United Nations Population Fund, in collaboration with the Planning and Budget Commission (PBC) in Kaduna.

According to him, the disturbing statistics were based on the current General Households Survey conducted by the state Bureau of Statistics, and currently being validated by relevant stakeholders. He added that the statistics called for great concern and that the Kaduna Government would look into it.
