3 weeks later. No packages, no contact, no nothing.
In the meantime, my husband was working the phone from the Nigerian side trying to find out what has happened to our shipment.
He managed to get a hold of some bogus listing of offices. When he sent me the listing, I drove to the Chicago office an hour away from me! Place had cobwebs on the doors. You could see all of the boxes just everywhere. Place didn't look like anyone was there for months. I was so pissed, that i went to the neighboring market and practically cussed the manager of the store out. In my mind, this company was selling our stuff to the african store across the street.
I drove home empty handed except for the photos i took of the place. When I got home, I call the the 1.844. number again. The guy tried to say he don't know where my shipment was...then he changed the story that the chicago office was open and they just had a customer to call them and thank them for delivery of their stuff. When I asked what time was that. He told me. I told him he was a damn lie. I was there at that time. I literally went off on the phone. Practically lost my religion. He hung up on me.
So...I kept ringing their phone. I got all day. I rang...rang...rang... At one point, you could hear the silence on the phone. "I KNOW YOU LISTENING. IM GOING TO KEEP CALLING THIS NUMBER AND NOBODY IS GETTING THRU!"
Finally after 14 times, they answered. This time my husband get on the phone. He's calmer than I am but this is his stuff and he's pissed. He tried to be nice. But it wasn't working. After some more words, you can hear him calling some lady and the lady was like telling some lyin ace story. But she said he will mail the package tomorrow.
I abruptly interrupted and said NO, WE ARE COMING TO GET IT!
We drove another hour....3:30p.m.! She gives my husband one box. REALLY light. I told him I didn't lose my religion over one box. Thats not it is it? He said NO. We went back in, opened the box and sure enough. They had taken out all of the items and repackaged them in Uhaul Boxes. My husband was like we don't have Uhaul in Nigeria! We had to look thru all of the other scattered boxes to find another box. Even after finding 2 boxes, we were still MISSING 1 BIG box.
The person who called earlier to ask for our address weeks earlier, called us as we were arriving home. We told her she SAW the shipment with our name on it. But when we told her it was not there....she changed her story. She said she had to check with Lagos. SHES IN HOUSTON....YOU SAW IT IN HOUSTON AND NOW HAVE TO CHECK TO SEE IF IT WAS SENT IN THE PACKAGES THAT THEY WROTE ON IT '2 OUT OF 3? WHERES THE 3RD BOX!
We still have not received the box. I seriously believe if i didn't raise holy hell and went to the abandon office, we wouldn't even had gotten the 2 boxes we did get.
The adjoing store said that the chicago office just opened 6 months ago (instead of the years we were told by the company). They hadn't seen them in weeks. That was evident by the spiderweb that was all over the door.
THIS COMPANY IS A COMPLETE FRAUD. After I googled them, I found no good news. If you ever go on their 'official' site, notice that their social media links, links to no where! Any facebook pages that bears their name, you can't make any comments, if they even have any posts. Twitter is probably the only place you can find customer complaints.
