Reno Omokri Thanks Vice President, Osinbajo For Promoting Umbrella In His Viral Photos

Reno Omokri, a former aide to Ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, has thanked Vice President Yemi Osinbajo for acknowledging the importance of an umbrella.

Umbrella is the logo and symbol of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, a former ruling party that was kicked out in 2015 by Osinbajo and others in the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Photo of Osinbajo holding umbrella went viral during the week with the VP’s photographer, Tolani Alli posting more of such photos on social media.

The Vice President could be seen holding an umbrella to protect himself and others.

“I thank Vice President Osinbajo for publicly acknowledging that Nigeria needs the umbrella to return to the centre and save Nigerians from the damage done by the broom,” Reno Omokri tweeted.

Nigerians on social media also praised the Vice President for holding the Umbrella himself instead of his aides, which is a usual practice in Nigeria.

Misrepresenting the fact. Omokri should know better. The VP was simply demonstrating Humility, not promotion of any umbrella , which ismerely is to protect one from harsh weather. The significance of VP"s action is to demonsrste a very important personality can bear his own umbrella, andnot depending on a retnue of aides to perform such action for him. A typical of such action was didplyed when the Holy Father, Pope Francis carried his own briefcase while boarding an Alitalia airliner on his way to the Middle East on a tour. Im sure so many Nigerians of all ststus use the broom to clean their environment, does that attract any attention, just ecause the PDP uses that object as its symbol?

  I sincerely hope you personally understand what was going on in Omokri"s mind when he was writing his piece. Omokri"s  quoted speech which made reference to the VP should leave his Party and join the PDP, should be clear to inrptelligent minds. Omokti was not praising the VP"s humility, but something else.
