According to A.S Horn's (2008) Oxford Advanced Learners Dictionary, "cause" is defined as "something which has an impact on an event or person." The term "cause" was defined by Arthur Stemson (2009) as "events that supply the generative power that is the beginning of something." Michael Daft (2010) defined "cause" as a set of acts aimed at promoting a principle or achieving a certain goal. Sally Wehmeier defined "cause" in the Oxford Advanced Learners Dictionary 6th edition (2007) as "anything that causes things to happen." According to the researcher's definition, "cause" refers to everything that contributes inadvertently to a result, such as a set of elements that influence an event's consequences.
According to Littman Dolphin's (2009) Chambers Twentieth Dictionary, "Indiscipline" is a way of life that follows norms and is not subject to control.

In other words, it is a person's incapacity to lie in line with institutional rules and procedures. Sally Wehmeier (2007) defined "indiscipline" as a lack of control in a group's behavior in the Oxford Advanced Learners Dictionary 6th edition. Ken Maccain's fourth edition of the American Heritage Dictionary defined "indiscipline" as "a distinctive quality of a personal nature indulging self indulgence an inability to resist the satisfaction of whim and want." According to Kelly Kernerman's (2009) Kernerman English Dictionary, "indiscipline" is defined as "poor behavior, refusal to accept commands." According to the researchers' own interpretation, "indiscipline" is defined as a person's or a group of people's or an individual's failure to contribute to society while also being a nuisance and non-compliance with the society's norms and regulations.

Sally Wehmeier (2007) described "secondary school" as a school for young people aged eleven to sixteen or eighteen, according to the Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary 6th Edition. According to Alfa Balgore (2010), "secondary school" refers to the competence of preparing pupils for higher education. According to Nigeria's National Policy on Education (2009), "secondary school" is described as an educational institution that produces trained personnel and fresh information needed for technical development and economic success. "Secondary School," in my opinion, may be defined as an educational program that assists and guides pupils in adapting to society, living a life of value to society, and preparing for the future.

Discipline among students in their last year of secondary school. Cheating in the examination hall, arriving late, missing school, engaging themselves outside of school hours, smoking, disobedient, making noise in the classroom, loitering in the school compound, fighting, telling lies, and gossiping in the classroom are all examples of indiscipline among final year students, according to the Enugu State Ministry of Education (2009). Playing music in class while conversing; using electronic devices such as a mini, radio, or cell phone; failure to do homework; involvement in a hidden cult; gambling in school; writing on the blackboard; and stealing.

The Enugu North Local Government Area is one of the state's local governments. It is located in Enugu State's urban region, with heavily and poorly inhabited areas as a result of migration for urban habitation. It has a large number of secondary schools, including government and non-government secondary schools. Enugu North Local Government Area has at least one hundred secondary schools, and its headquarters are on Okpara Avenue.

Poor school administration and a terrible atmosphere can contribute to a student's indiscipline behavior. A student's family history can also obstruct their growth, causing them to participate in indiscipline behavior. According to John Mokamah (2010), the problem of indiscipline is particularly visible among secondary school administrators' final year students. Adefemi Yinka Yarson (2009) went on to say that rules and regulations impact final year secondary school students more than anything else since they are created by school officials to guide and safeguard students while they are in school. As a result, students no longer see handwork as the sole honorable road to achievement; instead, students from all walks of life, rich and poor, strong and oppressed, are involved in a variety of disciplinary activities. The issue of indiscipline pervades all aspect of our lives. It has dragged us to our knees and tied us down by an unsightly archer termed "indiscipline." According to Fidelis Okoye (2009), school indiscipline is currently through a long eclipse.

Steinson (2009) stated that seeing people roaming the city freely in their school uniforms nowadays is disheartening and out of the ordinary. Gone are the days when our parents threatened to denounce us to the school if our children began acting on their parents' desires again. Punishing a student for bad behavior has become ridiculous, as such "in disciplinarians" must be beaten up by the disciplinary agent or tormented and occasionally punished by the parents of indiscipline kids. This isn't to suggest that disadvantaged pupils aren't included. At the very least, pupils can exact retribution by tiding; haunting stone at each chance they get, and even poisoning their teacher's meals or beverages. Most youngsters nowadays feel that they should have things their way and only their way. And, God forbid, if they don't get their way, there will be hell to pay.

In today's culture, indiscipline is prevalent, and parents appear to be more scared of their children than the other way around. Parents don't seem to grasp that by giving in to their children's demands, they are simply making them uncontrolled and a threat to society. The adage "seek ye first honour and the kingdom of God money and riches shall accompany your way" has become our guiding philosophy in recent years. Preaching the kingdom of God, on the other hand, offends the minds of our youngsters today. Students live in a world where instructors, schools, and society as a whole do not respect hard labor, beautiful objects, clean thinking, moral qualities, physical talents, or fair play.

Discipline standards have been rapidly worsening in the educational environment during the previous decade. School is no longer what it used to be, since few schools can maintain the same high standards of behavior. It's possible that instructors don't have the same self-assurance and dominating demeanor as they formerly had, or that job pressure has risen to the point that all teachers can concentrate about is finishing the curriculum on time. Clearly, the most of them lack the commitment to go above and beyond their call of duty and curriculum in order to contribute to the children's overall growth. One cannot blame them totally when one considers the large number of pupils in each classroom, as well as the added stress of having to deal with the increasing number of subjects and books. Most parents send their children to tutorials for the same purpose, and it serves to add to their workload. It's a never-ending cycle. Not only that, but today's educational system does not equip them for work. According to Bart A. Harrison (2009), any civilization whose educational system ignores the needs of pupils is doomed.

However, having a curriculum is insufficient. It is critical that it considers all societal objectives. Nigeria, without a doubt, need a scientific and technical breakthrough. The curriculum is disconnected from real-world information, causing the child's mind and feet to roam. However, this cannot be pursued at the expense of moral and social needs, as well as the nation's growth. Moral education is sorely missing in today's curriculum. The present moral education, as outlined in the curriculum, is shabby and underutilized. It is not even taught in certain secondary schools, and teachers lack moral value as well. No pupil, both academically and morally, can be considered superior than his or her instructor. History, civic education, and sciences, among other disciplines, should be encouraged since they instill in students the value of country development. As can be seen, the fundamental flaw is in the educational system. Indiscipline is a type of act delinquency that includes things like lying, stealing, and deception, as well as fleeing from home. It causes a great deal of mental, emotional, and bodily harm, including property destruction at home and at schools. When a kid is not given what he or she wants, he or she becomes uncontrollable and can do a great deal of harm.
