My Nigerian story:
20 years ago, we were ruled by military. We had no water, no electricity and no good government schools; everything good had to be privately owned and the few government entities that are manageable were privatized.
Today, 20 years after the leaders are greedier and even more ferocious  - we still don't have water, no electricity, though people are now able to buy generators and queue at gas station for fuels - there are no good roads, but they invest alot  TRYING to make the airports 'look better' - the airport used to transfer their loots to foreign lands and send their wards to foreign schools in Kenya, Cairo, South Africa, USA, Canada and UK.
