The Kano State Police Command on Friday arraigned a former Commissioner of Works and Infrastructure in the Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje-led government, Muazu Magaji.

Muazu Magaji was docked before Justice Aminu Gabari of a Senior Magistrate Court, Normansland, on a four-count charge.

The charges, according to the police First Information Report, FIR, bothers on defamation of character, injurious falsehood and others.

The police spokesman, SP Haruna Kiyawa, said, “We are currently investigating charges of defamation of character, intentional insult, injurious falsehood and inciting disturbance against Muaz Magaji.”

However, reports have it that there was a mild drama in the court when Magaji refused to talk, causing the presiding magistrate to ask him to be taken to hospital.

Muazu Magaji might be reminded in prison after the case was not heard despite being arraigned.
