The Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami says he has not resigned from President Muhammadu Buhari government.

Umar Gwandu, his Special Assistant on Media and Public Relations, issued a statement Thursday night.

The spokesman noted that the Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) was still in office.

Madami said he remains committed to discharging statutory obligations and constitutionally delineated responsibilities in accordance with the provisions of extant laws.

The minister thanked Nigerians “for the demonstration of love and unparalleled interest shown”.

Malami is believed to be nursing an ambition to become the Governor of Kebbi State on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
