Nigerian singer, music executive, actor, and politician, Olubankole Wellington, popularly known as Banky W, has made it known that Global afrobeats superstar Wizkid owed E.M.E Records three albums at the time he left the label. Speaking in an interview with Ebuka on Black Box Interviews, Banky W revealed not-so-clear details that Wizkid had signed a 5 album deal with EME in the early days of his career. Recall, Wizkid had released his debut album ‘Superstar‘ and his sophomore album ‘Ayo‘ while signed to E.M.E, a label that has Banky W highlighted as one of its executives. Banky revealed that it was after the release of both albums that Wizkid left to start his own outfit ‘Starboy Entertainment’.
Furthermore, Banky stated that he understood Wizkid needed to leave at the time he wanted, hence, the label decided to let him leave.
