The Lagos state police command have arrested a suspected cultist, Adedotun Jelili aka Baba Ibeji and his gang members in Ikorodu
A statement released by the state police on its Twitter page, said he was arrested in a cultists’ den alongside three others while security personnel were responding to an alert by residents.
The statement read;
”PRESS RELEASE
CULTISM: POLICE STORM CULTISTS’ DEN IN IKORODU, ARREST THREE
Acting upon intelligence provided by civic-minded Lagosians, operatives of the CP Special Squad of the Command stormed some cultists’ den in Isawo, Ikorodu on April 16, 2022.
Adedotun Jelili ‘m’ 25yrs, and Solomon Moses ‘m’ 22yrs have provided useful information to the Police.
The Lagos State Police Command uses this medium to call on parents, guardians, traditional/religious/political/youth leaders to prevail on the teeming youth population to shun cultism and other vices.
Suspects will be charged to court at the completion of investigation.”
Baba Ibeji, 25-year-old who is the cult leader is said to have received a honorary award in January 2022.
