A three-year-old girl has been crushed to death by a suspected ‘Yahoo boy’ at Old Eku road in Sapele, Delta State.

One other toddler was said to have escaped death too.

The numberless Toyota Corolla vehicle driven by the suspect was however destroyed on Friday by youths in the town after the Yahoo boy on sensing the gravity of the accident fled the scene.

It was gathered that the crash reportedly occurred at about 6:30 pm and it involved a Toyota car driven by a suspected Yahoo boy.

The suspect was driving along with Old Eku road at high speed when he allegedly crushed the three years old who were said to be playing with another toddler when he crushed one and the other escaped.

Eyewitness accounts alleged that the accident was caused by overspeeding on the part of the suspect.

However, another person who claim to have witnessed the accident and craved anonymity said the suspect was not on speed but was making a phone call and he did not notice when the kids ran into the main road.

The suspect according to sources left his vehicle after crushing the little girl and fled the scene when he noticed the anger was beginning to rise.

His action was said to have incited the residents in the town who began stoning the vehicle and smashing the glasses.

The corpse has been deposited in the morgue of a private hospital in the town.

The state police command spokesperson, Odafe Bright however said he is yet to be informed of the accident, “I am yet to be informed maybe you will call back” he said.

That age is too small to be left alone without an adult's protection, regarding the fact that the the place is close to a main road. I sense nonchalance on the part of her parents
