Human rights activist, Deji Adeyanju has asked Nigerians to blame Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu if the North retains power in 2023.
Both Osinbajo and Tinubu are jostling to get the presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Since 1999, Tinubu and Osinbajo have enjoyed a cordial political relationship. The latter served as the attorney-general of Lagos from 1999 to 2007 when the former was the governor of the state.
It is widely believed in some quarters that Tinubu nominated Osinbajo as President Muhammadu Buhari’s running mate in 2015 as part of the political bargaining that led to the formation of APC.
Reacting to the emergence of former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar as the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in a series of tweets on Sunday, Adeyanju said the North may retain power in 2023.
Adeyanju accused Tinubu and Osinbajo of being selfish and not putting the interest of others into consideration.
Some political analysts have been saying that for the APC to counter Atiku's popularity in the North and win the presidential election, it will have to also present a northerner as its candidate.
This will however anger many southerners who have argued that for the sake of fairness, a southerner should succeed President Muhammadu Buhari, a northerner, who would have spent eight years in office at the end of his second tenure in 2023.

We have started blaming them already. Yoruba and the South South that keep downgrading themselves to minorities.  Very easy to be brainwashed and convinced by the North. It's obvious that the presidency may remain in the North. No thanks to the yoruba and South South people. Let them take it. If i hear pim from any Yoruba and South South person again ehh I will call on our god of thunder( Amadioha) to strike the person.

This Deji is not making sense, how can you hold Tinubu and Osinbajo responsible when they are not in PDP. How can you expect Tinubu to support S.East candidate, the South East should blame themselves for not insisting on PDP zoning the presidency to the S.East because they have been supporting the PDP over the years, they believe supporting the PDP will be the quickest way to get the presidency

In the spirit of fairness and unity that binds us together as one indivisible nation, it is time to allow the igbo a share in the Nigeria project .It will be unfair to marginalize a section of the nation for a reason unknown to me .Even if mistrust of the igbos over their ethic support for agitation and secession but giving them a chance to the highest office in the country would definitely revamp their confidence in one Nigeria .

WHEN THE SOUTH EASTERNERS CAN'T AGREE AMONGST THEMSELVES, THEY KEEP FIGHTING AND KILLING EACH OTHER EVEN WITHIN SAME FAMILY CIRCLES, NOBODY WILL WAIT FOR THEM. IT'S DEMOCRACY, THOSE WHO CARRY THE NUMBERS RULE, AND THATS' THAT!
