Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has broken his silence since he lost the APC presidential ticket, congratulating Asiwaju Bola Tinubu for his victory at the primary.

Tinubu, who contested the party’s presidential ticket with 13 other aspirants, polled 1,271 votes at the election to pick the ticket.

Rotimi Amaechi, the immediate past Minister of Transportation, came second with 316 votes, while Vice President Yemi Osinbajo came third with 235 delegate votes.

Osinbajo, in a statement on Thursday evening congratulated Tinubu on his victory at the APC primary and his emergence as the presidential candidate and flagbearer of the party for next year’s presidential election.

He also congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari and all leaders of the APC for a successful Special Convention and Presidential Primary.

According to him, for many decades, Tinubu had shown passion, patriotism, courage and determination in the cause of nation-building.

He said his sterling contributions to the nation’s democracy and its progress stood him out and that his wealth of experience would certainly be critical in the party’s continued efforts to attain a more secured and prosperous Nigeria.

In his words:
Quote
“For many decades, our flagbearer has shown passion, patriotism, courage and determination in the cause of nation-building. His sterling contributions to our democracy and its progress stand him out.

“His wealth of experience will certainly be critical in our party’s continued efforts to attain a more secured and prosperous Nigeria.

“To all members of our great party, regardless of who you voted for at the primaries, we must now unite behind our presidential candidate and flagbearer to ensure victory for our party in the 2023 elections.

“As true progressives, we must remain strong and united i pursuing our collective vision as a party toward building a country that can provide a decent life and livelihoods for all our people.”

Regardless of who clinched the ticket .I’m reiterating my position and stand on the choice of Nigeria next president. The youths are exhausted and marginalized and for this reason we want a younger and working class president not a near the grave individual who at one point or the other have contributed to the failure of this country. It’s enough ! It’s Peter Obi  for president
