Will Smith Slap Did Hurt! Comedian Chris Rock Turns Down The Offer To Host 2023 Oscars

Chris Rock is not interested in hosting the Oscars this time around.

The comedian shared this with his audience at a Phoenix stand-up show, noting that he was asked to return to the Oscars in 2023 as host after Will Smith slapped him onstage. He declined the offer.

According to the Arizonal Republic, the comedian said it would be like going back to a crime scene or inviting Nicole Brown Simpson “to go back to the restaurant.” He claimed he also turned down a Super Bowl ad in the aftermath.

He reportedly also said that the Will Smith slap did hurt.

“He’s bigger than me. The state of Nevada would not sanction a fight between me and Will Smith,” he reportedly said.
