Gospel singer, Tope Alabi is presently mocked and criticized online for releasing a tribute song in honor of the late Queen Elizabeth who died on Thursday, September 8, 2022.

Recall that Queen Elizabeth, Britain’s longest-reigning monarch, and the nation’s figurehead for seven decades, died aged 96.

“The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral” Buckingham Palace said in a statement.

With this latest development, her eldest son Charles, 73, automatically becomes king of the United Kingdom and the head of state of 14 other realms including Australia, Canada, and New Zealand.

In a bid to pay tribute to her, Gospel singer Tope Alabi released a video of collated photos of the Queen with a composed song in her honor, an act that many of her followers didn’t appreciate.

“When I heard the news I was shocked and sad, though it’s better on the other side, I know it is peaceful on the other side, but we are pained you had to leave us this soon. We don’t want you to leave, we didn’t plan to pay tributes to pay this soon, you love everyone and you are so kind” the lyrics of the tribute song reads in part.

Many of her fans made jest of her and crucified her for the act of “eye service”

See some reactions that have trailed the tribute song

Which kind oversabi song be this for crying out loud, no single British artist don sing her tribute, do u even know ur history? Na wa oh” one Mr Cross wrote.

“I find this hilarious and stupid. You don’t want her to leave, at 96? Please which tribute did you release for the Alaafin of Oyo when he died or even Ada Amaeh the actress, it is Queen Elizabeth you are doing eye service for” one Aanma wrote

When I first saw this I thought maybe people might have edited it and put your song, but aunty Tope you fell my hand for this one! You are shocked at a 96year old woman dying? wow ” one Amina wrote

It is as if Queen Elizabeth is from Nigeria cause the way my people dey post the woman ehnn. …MY BROTHER, .SHE IS NOT AN IDIOT. SHE ONLY APPRECIATES HER GOOD CONTRIBUTIONS TO HUMANITY.  CAN YOU COMPARE HER TO ANY NIGERIA LEADERS PREVIOUS AND PRESENT? ARE YOU PROUD OF BUHARI AND OTHER PRESIDENTS WHO WHERE IN POWER BEFORE? I F NIGERIA HAD A LEADER LIKE QUEEN ELIZABETH FOR JUST FIVE YEARS, NOBODY WOULD BE RELOCATING TO LONDON FOR A BETTER LIFE. WHEN COLONIALISM TOOK PLACE, QUEEN ELIZABETH WAS NOT PART OF THE COLONIAL MASTERS . SOMEONE TALKED ABOUT ADA AMEN AND ALAFIN OF OYO. TELL ME WHAT ADA AMEN CONTRIBUTED TO THE GENERAL WELL BEING OF NIGERIANS? ALAFIN OF OYO WAS BUSY MARRYING DIFFERENT BEAUTIFUL WOMEN AND ENJOYING HIS LIFE  TILL HE DIED WITH NO TANGIBLE ACHIEVEMENTS. QUEEN ELIZABETH WAS A DECENT WOMAN

This is where you for it wrong, because she wasn't directly slave people or not her era doesn't mean she wasn't part of it.you praised how much she done her country but mind you ,that's on the back of black people she was well truly aware of this but not one in this woman life time has she come out to rebuke and apologies for their part in slavery. I agree with you with the king's in Africa that's a different conversation entirely. Everything Europe is riches and advancements came from you black people don't get it twisted at all. The privilege life she came into she knows how that life came about ,they know trust me they know. They re the only well know people that still has massive ties to slavery everything they own and you see is from the back of our ancestors. Has she contribute to the life's of her people of cause she has just like any thief would lol so ye she's done well for her people but not my people

…Well to some extent I agree with you but however I don’t accept your argument of she being a thief. Most of what were stolen in Africa have been returned. An indication that they never sold any of it to enrich themselves. If even she did, she used most part of the profits to better the lives of her people. Nigerian leadership have stolen uncountable amounts of money and till tomorrow, they are still stealing but what have they been able to do with the money to reduce the poverty levels in Nigeria? Queen was nice woman

About Nigeria or any Africa country politicians,we can agree on that and they re the reason why we re here now . As for queen is a nice woman that you said. That's "subjective" you and I don't know her personally so we can't really say how she was. I want you to take time to read about the history of these people may be we can have more convo on it. As for now you re not giving me anything concrete but that you feel the Queen was a nice person and comparing her to any Africa idiots lol. I want you to read about a guy call King Leopold.
