The presidential candidate of Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi has vowed to tackle corruption if elected as President in 2023. Peter Obi spoke on Wednesday night when he appeared on the Arise TV Prime Time program. He said he will block leakages exploited by politcians to enrich themselves.

The former governor of Anambra state said his campaign manifesto which is centered around Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as well as the issue of security, unity of the country and revamping the economy, will focus on essential things and not waste time chasing corrupts officials.

He said his party’s manifesto was “95% ready”, explaining that his group was working with the Nigeria Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) to fine-tune it along the Charter Demand of labour because, “Labour interest is critical, and we want to bring it into our manifesto and protect same.”

“Our manifesto is anchored on the Sustainable Development Goals and that the key issues are security, uniting the country, ensuring that our cohesion comes back to what it used to be, issues of Rule of Law, Law and order, fighting corruption, making the country productive, creating jobs amongst others,” he said.

He maintained that security was one issue is administration would deal with “decisively” because every other thing revolves around it. He added that the introduction of multi-level policing from the local governments to the state and then the federal level will be initiated, noting that the entire security apparatus will be review.

Apart from restructuring the security system of the country and the economy, the Labour Party presidential candidate further assured that he would initiate constitutional restructuring after issues of insecurity and poverty had been resolved, saying, “we need to restructure the country, this one will happen, I believe in it and it is in the interest of the whole nation.”

Should a technocrat leaks it’s own report on research and development of a project analysis? If you have  ever worked in an oriented driven organization, you wouldn’t say that . Get your pens and paper ready and stop being counterproductive.

Its quite pathetic how Nigerians votes along geopolitical zones, religious lines or ethnic sentiment. These r just few of the many hindrances derailing this nation potentially. People have to see beyond all these and votes credible personality .Nigerian should  be concerned about the current situation of the country and stopped been partisan .Good or bad Nigeria has nothing to do with me , but for the pity of human  degradation that’s why we get involved to lecture y’all  on the need for good governance.
