Three Soldiers Reportedly Killed, One Injured After Being Attacked By Bandits In Zamfara

Three soldiers were killed and one other sustained injuries after they were attacked by bandits near Dolen-Kaura village of Kaura-Namoda Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

An indigene of the area who begged for anonymity informed us that the incident happened on Wednesday night when bandits ambushed the vehicle conveying the military personnel who were on duty.

According to the source, the military personnel got intelligence information that the bandits were planning to attack Kada-mutsa village in Zurmi Local Government Area of the state and they were deployed to foil the attack.

Unfortunately, the bandits also got information that the soldiers were coming to attack them.

“The bandits laid an ambush and attacked the vehicle conveying the military personnel, killing three of them and wounded one,” said the source.

The source gave the name of the team leader who was killed as ‘Major Emos”, describing him as a gallant military officer.

“He was a gallant military officer who dedicated his life to defending the lives of the people of the Kaura-namoda local government area.

“The deceased was always available on distress call whenever there was bandits’ attack within the area”.

“His death is a great loss not only to the people of Kaura-namoda local government but the entire state,”
the source added.

Both the military and the state police command were yet to issue any statement on the incident at the time of filing this report.
