Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has expressed concern over why the Lagos ports are being congested, even with many other deep seaports across the nation.

Obi, in a post on his social media handle on Wednesday, said the congestion of the Lagos ports had created avoidable bottlenecks in the maritime sector when it comes to imports and exports.

“The Nigeria maritime sector is robust and ought to grow stronger. We are blessed with several deep seaports. However, for some inexplicable reason, we tend to cluster our import and export activities around the Lagos ports, thus creating avoidable bottlenecks,” he said.

The former Anambra governor, in his recommendation, said, “We should decongest Lagos ports via a deliberate policy of incentivizing end-destination priorities.”

This, according to him, would “curtail on-land heavy haulage transshipments that take a toll on our road infrastructure.”

This is the main reason why the South West always works against South East producing president of Nigeria.  Let everything be in Lagos. With about 80% of the importers coming from Igbo nation.  Imagine Lagos alone having about three or four seaports while the whole South East and South South have no functional seaports. I don't know why the South South people are silent on this issue. Very docile people. Mumu.

Wow! Obi is driven by high adrenaline which is good as a catalyst for good leadership. But on the issue of de congestion of the  overwhelmed Lagos port ,I would say such will take Nigeria some distance to get there .Factors that empowered distribution network of goods and services is not achievable in the past and present Nigeria due to powerball players .A massive investment is needed to clear the ground for implementation..Obi as a trader has a good intention but certain mechanisms that can accelerate those intentions are not addressed in all of his manifestos so far ..Vote Atiku for a great nigerha economy rebound

Seriously, Obi need to be clearer on his manifesto. His  manifesto sounds like assumptions that can’t come to fruition in the next decade .Nigeria nation is nearing a default and I hope the next nigerha president knows that clearly .This is why I’m banking so much on Atiku for his resilience and not promising or saying things that romances voters but keeping it real .If you haven’t been involved in highest decision making bodies of government, I bet you don’t know shit about been a president.People likening Tinubu achievement in Lagos to a vast and huge population of Nigeria ,forgetting there’s huge difference between state and national governing ..Nigerian should think before y’all vote a novice

may God bless you my brother. Atiku has nothing to offer Nigerians. Obasanjo regretted working with him as a vice president. Obasanjo said that the money Atiku stole can feed 300 million Nigerians for 400 years.
