Former Presidential aide to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri has accused the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi of politicising church attendance.
Omokri, who is a strong critic of Obi stated this on his official Twitter handle on Friday afternoon.
This comes less than a day after the former Anambra governor attended Shiloh 2022, an annual programme of the Living Faith Church, to a rousing welcome by the congregation on Thursday.
Obi has been visiting major churches across the country in recent months.

But, according to Omokri, nobody on earth, living or dead, has to his knowledge, politicised church attendance like the LP presidential candidate.
The former presidential aide also said Obi did not know of the existence of these churches before 2022.

He also accused Obi of moving from church to church, turning alters into rallies.
Omokri wrote,
Quote
“Nobody on Earth, living or dead, has, to my knowledge, politicised church attendance like Peter Obi.

“A man who did not even know of the existence of these churches before 2022 has started going from church to church and Experience to Shiloh, turning altars to rallies.”

Despite the fact that Obi is my choice, I don’t think his frequent appearances at churches is a good idea. He was not visiting these churches before now, why have they become so important all of a sudden?? Churches are highly criticised in Nigeria by Nigerians daily. If he is going to win, it is not by attending churches or honouring every invitation. So people may view this as hypocrisy

And so what? He is even a Christian, so what of Buhari, a Muslim, that visited synagogue and a dozen other Churches between 2014 and 2015? And so what I ask again. Is it against the law for a presidential aspirant to attend Church? Were Tinubu and Atiku visiting all the traditional rulers that they have visited so far when they weren't running for President? Obi needs to visit anywhere, convince any group, do whatever it takes to win the election. Haters and opponents can burn.
