A Nigerian lady living in Canada has cried out on social media after she got evicted by her landlord over her vegetable soup.

Apparently, the lady had just moved into a new house in Canada, one where her landlord also lives in. She decided to cook herself a Nigerian delicacy – vegetable soup but it did not end well.

She was still cooking when her landlord came and told her that the aroma was upsetting. He adds that he and his daughter suffer from migraine and that she had to go.

“My first vegetable soup hat gave me quit notice in my new house”, the lady wrote

Actually some white people do complain about the offensive odour of some African food like ogbono, banga or dried fish. Egusi sometimes smell badly like urine after long storage

This cannot be true in a country that has strict tenancy laws. No landlord can evict a tenant on such basis. Not even if she is just a lodger.

The vegetable soup might have been cooked with ogili (locust beans) and our short native goat.
