Former Sokoto governor, Alhaji Attahiru Bafarawa, criticized Kaduna state Governor Nasir El Rufai for claiming the North supports Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as the Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Bafarawa, a People Democratic Party (PDP) member, told the BBC that other northern figures are pushing their own candidates.

He said El-Rufai was imposing Tinubu on the North and that everyone has a right to support their preferred candidate.
Bafarawa also pointed out that young people with good reasoning are better than someone who is 100 years old and that El-Rufai’s comments lacked responsibility and respect.

He added that El-Rufai should focus on making comments that contribute to the development of the North and the country as a whole.
