The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the just-concluded presidential election, Atiku Abubakar has said the journey to become Nigeria’s president almost cost his life.

The former vice president who spoke during a press conference in Abuja on Thursday, said his move to enthrone and deepen democracy in Nigeria started even during the military era.

The PDP candidate claimed that he has been battling for the nation’s top job for the past three decades.

He said, “It is with a heart full of sadness that I address you today. I have in the last three decades devoted my life to battle to birth and deepen democracy in our country.

“It was a battle that started during the military era. It was a struggle that nearly cost me my life and that of my son where eight policemen were killed in the attempt to save our lives. I survived the assassination only by the mercy and the grace of God.

“That was not all, my businesses were nearly crippled. My commitment in the enthronement of democracy made me join forces with other compatriots.

“As a leader of the defunct Social Democratic Party, together with our current Chairman, we fought and won the 1993 presidential election which was acclaimed to be the freest election in our nation’s history. There was no internet then, yet it was the freest and fairest election”.

Sebi nah your desire to drain the treasury wey dey pursue you. You have no good agenda for the country. NGR would have been saved from our national assets being sold on the cheap to friends and associates, leaving majority of NGRNs jobless and in abject poverty today. Thankfully and as The True Lord lives, you will NEVER become president of NGR. NEVER!

This is not the time to act pity cos millions of Nigerians needed more pity, yet, you and your people of the opposition party abused the power of democracy and inflicted suffering on the Nigerian populace. Which sector can we boast of it's structure, Nigerians are entitled to dividends of democracy, but what do they get? #5000 or gas cooker, though na dem we wan collect am sha. We voted for our candidate but your colleagues have put their dubious and malicious structure in place to create false results, and claims to be the elected one. You are both on the same scheme just that they acted faster but foolishly anyways. Nigerians are angry and we are ready to claim our mandate but mind you, your pity act doesn't work.

Atiku should just go and rest. Some things in life are just not achievable to certain people. You have tried and continuously failed. Time to retire. And thinking that you were also one of those that stole PO's votes in Akwa Ibom and Delta states, I can have no pity for you. Oya vamooze !
