Nigerian Singer Naira Marley has declared support for Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos state. He made his support public on Wednesday via his Instagram page. The singer said Sanwo-Olu was the best man for the job. He further remarked that there had been significant development in infrastructure and other aspects, which was evident and accessible for all to witness.
“I’m not (for the) All Progressives Congress, I’m not (for the) Peoples Democratic Party, I’m not (for the) Labour Party…but where Lagos is going right now, we don’t need to start testing at all. “I think Sanwo-Olu is the right person for the job. This is not a paid promo or nothing. He has achieved a lot, he also has experience,” he said.
He said he knew Sanwo-Olu was going to make Lagos great. Despite the common trend for backlash from fans after declaring a preferred candidate, Naira Marley said as a Nigerian, he could not be silenced in his choice.
