ARISE TV news anchor, Rufai seni has taken to Twitter to drag the Nigeria Broadcast Commission, NBC, for playing what he described as “double standard.” The journalist said that the NBC was yet to issue any statement following the role of the Nigeria Television Authority, NTA, in the illegal declaration of Adamawa gubernatorial election result. He wondered why the broadcast regulatory body has yet to issue any sanction, alleging a double standard. Recall that Hudu Yunusa, the Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, Adamawa State, illegally decalared Binani winner of the State election on Sunday. The illegal declaration was covered by the NTA, a government-owned media outfit.

However, the electoral commission swiftly denounced the purported declaration and suspended the collation of results of the supplementary election. Meanwhile, Oseni claimed if it was another station, the NBC would have sanctioned such station the next day.

He wrote, “About a week, yet we have heard no statement from the NBC on the NTA incident, if it was another station. The next day they would have sanctioned such station. Double standards!”

It was a scheduled Event, NTA was invited to cover whatever Event that was going on therein. The Broadcast Outfit did not contribute to the Event iin the area of Discussion or any othder Arrangements. Publish as it happens.
