"We Have Uncovered Planned Negative Campaign Against FG Over Emefiele" - DSS

The Department of State Services (DSS) has said it has identified persons and groups planning to stage campaigns of calumny against it and the government over the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele.

In a statement by its Spokesman, Peter Afunanya, the DSS claimed that some groups intend to gather at different points in Abuja and Lagos State in the coming week with placards depicting the service and the government in a bad light as well as calling for the immediate release of Emefiele.

According to the statement, there is also a plan to infiltrate its fold to use disloyal staff members for subversive purposes against its leadership.

The secret police warned those it described as plotters to desist from their plans.

It disclosed that the arrowheads of the plans are already under watch and will be apprehended.

Relatedly, the DSS said the service has granted the family of Emefiele, medical officials, and appropriate persons access to the former CBN governor who is in their custody, long before the court order directing the service to do so.

The secret police further stressed that Emefiele was never denied access to his lawyers, medical officers, as well as his relatives.

“It is instructive to state that the Service had granted the family of Emefiele, medical officials, and appropriate persons access to him, right from the day he was taken in and long before the court order requesting so.

“The Service implements Standard Operating Procedures on Suspect Handling and Investigation to the latter. It conducts its affairs transparently, and professionally and respects the rule of law in compliance with democratic governance,” the DSS communique partly read.

The DSS went on to assure Nigerians of its professionalism in the current matter(s) under its purview, adding that the Service will, however, not be distracted or intimidated.

But what is his crime other than the  mangled 'terrorism' charge ? Introducing New currency was a technical policy aimed at dealing with the  naira situation, but  as Tinubu and co had hoarded trillions of the  money, they felt abridged  and decapitated to misuse the public with that loot. But the CBN got nothing to do with what you  d to  mangle elections, so release him as everyone knows that he has committed no crime. The DSS  like al other governmental agencies in Africa is being abused to carry out  political vendetta, and this is more the reason why Tinubu and his like should never be allowed to  control  the levers of power.

Is it this same Emefiele that killed many Nigerians with his cash confiscation policy which was nicknamed "cash swap" that people want to protest for?That his policy alone is enough for him to be arrested.Sentiment can turn a wise man to a big f.o.o.l within seconds.

It’s unbelievable that a lot of niagerians don’t understand the complex economic hole this guy put the country in.
1. He was stealing the government banking transaction fees.
2. Because of the population bank transactions generate a total of #40b per day in fees.
3. In 3 months the cbn refused to remit #2 trillion yes you read it righ. To the ministry of finance and budget, cbn governor and his buddies kept these funds.
4. He has been diverting these funds for 7yrs plus
5. He now had the guts to loan the Federal Government money, same money he had been diverting for years.
6. Government has been borrowing for some time now, have you asked who has been loaning them the money.
7. He has diverted close to $500b yes billion dollars
Of your money and my money
He has more cash than bezos, mark and Elon put together.
He will die in jail.

You guys need to research and stop fighting blindly for the ppl destroying the future of our country.
