Tinubu Gave Sacked Service Chiefs Fat Retirement Benefits to Avoid Coup – Sowore Claims

The 2023 African Action Congress, AAC, presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has reacted to the report of President Bola Tinubu giving mouth watering retirement package to the sacked Service Chiefs.

Sowore suggested that Tinubu gave the sacked Service Chiefs the retirement packages to avoid them overthrowing his government.

Last week, Tinubu ordered the sack of all Service Chiefs and the Inspector-General of Police, Advisers, and the Comptroller-General of Customs.

He immediately replaced them.

Following their retirement, reports had it that the Chief of Defence Staff and the service chiefs got bulletproof Sport Utility Vehicles, personal aides, guards and other perks of office, including generous allowance for medical treatment abroad, as retirement benefits.

Reacting to the development, Sowore claimed that the package was due to the plot to remove him while he travelled to France.

Tweeting, Sowore wrote: “These mouth-watering retirement offers to these suddenly retired Nigerian military top brass sounds like they held Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu @ABATMediaCentre to ransom because they knew something the public didn’t know about his ‘Presidency.’ And selection.

“I think the rumour of their (military) plan to take out @officialABAT before his return from France might be true after all. So far, the interests of ordinary Nigerians have been sacrificed to get Tinubu’s power consolidated.”

REALLY?  So this has been your plan against Igbo presidency? No wonder Peter Obi was denied victory . Nigerians now know  that you people carried out the coup before  Obi's ascension to the position. If what you said is true HOLY GHOST fire will strike soon.

the retirement benefits were approved as far back as 2017 as contained in the revised  harmonised terms and conditions of service of the armed forces of nigeria section 11.8.....
tinubu was NOT president In 2017 nor was he a member of the committee that undertook the revision....
sowore gets your facts right and stop mis informing the public
