BREAKING NEWS! Senate Confirms Olayemi Cardoso as New CBN Governor

The Nigeria Senate on Tuesday confirmed Mr Olayemi Cardoso as governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN.

Simillarly, the red chamber confirmed deputy governor nominees including Emem Usoro, Muhammad Abdullahi-Dattijo, Philip Ikeazor and Bala Bello.


The confirmation comes after hours of deliberation and screening by lawmarkers.

Some of the issues raised during the screening bordered on the crumbling Naira and other economic challenges facing the country.

GISTMANIA recalls that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu appointed Cardoso two weeks ago to head the apex bank.
