Nigerians on social media are fuming over the return of popular money doubling scheme, MMM, into the Nigerian market as MMM Krypto. The popular money doubling scheme was the rage around 2016 and 2017 and the NDIC reported that three million Nigerians lost 18 billion Naira to the corporation. Many of the victims were left wretched and it was reported that some persons took their lives over the money they lost.

The Mavrodi Mondial Moneybox (MMM) was shut down in 2018 following the death of its founder, Henry Mavrodi from a heart attack. The company is now trying to make a comeback as MMM Krypto, and they had a recent meeting on December 2, 2023, in Durban, South Africa.
