In an interview on the latest episode of ‘Spill With Phyna’ on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, Nigerian singer Seun Kuti, son of the legendary Afrobeat icon Fela Kuti, has shared his unconventional spiritual beliefs, revealing that he actively practices voodoo, commonly known as ‘juju,’ and does not attend church.

Seun Kuti began by discussing his family’s historical ties to Christianity in Nigeria, particularly with the Anglican denomination. Despite his family playing a crucial role in the establishment of the Anglican side of Christianity in Nigeria, Kuti disclosed that they have gradually distanced themselves from the Christian faith over time.

The 41-year-old artist expressed his desire for Africans to rethink their spiritual beliefs, urging a new perspective on spirituality. When questioned about his own religious practices, Kuti openly stated that he follows ‘juju,’ providing a glimpse into his distinctive and less conventional approach to spirituality.

In the interview, Seun Kuti delved into the complexity of his family’s religious journey, challenging established norms and encouraging a fresh examination of spiritual perspectives.

Because someone’s belief system does not align with another persons - it does not  mean the other persons form of worship is  EVIL.

Our colonial mindset is still guiding our thoughts
 WHITE = RIGHT
and
BLACK = EVIL.

ALL forms of religious beliefs have evil forces within their congregation and teachings.

Some followers of a certain religion  believe they  will be given VIRGINS in PARADISE for murdering someone of a different religion to theirs!!!!

When we die - at heavens gate NO questions will be asked about which  religious denomination you belonged to. Or whether you worshipped on. Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays. Or whether you fasted enough times.

God will be looking at OUR  heart.
