"Why Electricity Supply Dropped Nationwide" – Minister Of Power, Adebayo Adelabu Explains

The Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has provided insights into the reasons behind the nationwide reduction in electricity supply.

Adelabu blamed gas constraints on thermal generating companies for the drop in power supply nationwide.

This was disclosed in a statement on Friday by Bolaji Tunji, special adviser, strategic communication and media relation to the Minister of Power.

He said the federal government is working to ensure outstanding payments are made to power generation companies to resolve the declining electricity supply.

“This is mainly due to a decreased gas supply to generation companies.

“This situation has led to a lower level of energy supplied to load centres, affecting the electricity supply to distribution companies.

“This will also enable distribution companies to supply more electricity to Nigerians.

“We acknowledge the unsustainable situation and expect a turnaround immediately.”

Recall that TCN had attributed the drop in bulk power supply to gas constraints.

Consequently, Electricity Distribution Companies across the country apologised to consumers for the drop in power supply.

Other African countries have 24 hrs power supply. Naija is still battling with same issue year in year out.

This is the man that is the reasons many parts in Nigeria now are not having light,for my area since last year September,thier normal 3 hours light has stopped,now we no dey get light at all but dem still dey waka dey collect light bill, kidnappers this is the kind of people you should be kidnapping,and when you kidnap them kill them straight ahead and still collect una ransom, rubbish
