Solomon Buchi, identified as a mentor and societal commentator, has recently provided guidance to couples contemplating marriage amidst the challenges posed by the current economic conditions in Nigeria.

Buchi advised those embarking on this journey not to prioritize extravagant weddings. Instead, he proposed a simpler approach, suggesting that men should fulfill the tradition of paying their partner's bride price and then opt for a courthouse ceremony to formalize their union.

Further, he recommended keeping the wedding modest, with a guest list of approximately 20 people, and advised against serving alcoholic beverages due to their high cost.

In a somewhat tongue-in-cheek remark, Buchi humorously remarked that if a woman desires a lavish wedding, she might as well consider marrying Jesus.

Taking to his Twitter account he wrote,

“Go and pay your woman’s bride price, go to court with your spouse and sign papers, do a weekday wedding with just 20 people, no alcoholic drinks because they are expensive. If anyone is angry, tell them how expensive things are in Nigeria. You would be a fool to do a big wedding in Nigeria right now as a hustler. Even bolognese are feeling the heat in Nigeria. Who are you? Who do you think you are? If you are a woman and you want a big wedding right now in Nigeria, go and marry Jesus.”
