A tragic incident unfolded on Tuesday morning, February 20, in Ebonyi State, where a pregnant middle-aged woman allegedly pushed her husband to his death from a two-storey building.
Reports from Punch indicate that the victim, Nwoga Maduabuchi, hails from Akparata village, Igbeagu community in the Izzi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State. He was married to the suspect, his second wife, who hailed from Uburu community in the Ohaozara Local Government Area, and they resided in Abakaliki, the state capital.
Sources suggest that an argument erupted between the victim and his second wife over a family matter, during which she purportedly pushed him, resulting in his fatal fall.
"The man fell victim to domestic violence. He had two wives. The first wife is from Izzi Local Government Area, while the second wife is from Uburu, Ohaozara Local Government Area of the state. It was a family dispute, but the second wife became extremely enraged and pushed her husband from the two-storey building. That's the crux of the matter. It's a shocking act of cruelty," remarked a security official who spoke anonymously.
Another source revealed that the suspect, heavily pregnant at the time, frequently engaged in arguments with her late husband, noting, "The second wife was persistently quarrelsome."
As of now, the state police command has yet to provide any comment on the incident.
