The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Ekiti State Command has made significant strides in combating crime within the state. Twelve individuals have been apprehended for various offenses, including armed robbery, illicit drug usage and peddling, housebreaking, stealing, conspiracy, and cyber-related crimes.

The state Commandant, Agboola Adisa Sunday, emphasized the commitment of the NSCDC to collaborate with other security agencies in Ekiti State to eradicate criminal elements. He pledged to employ both overt and covert methods to ensure the safety and security of the state's residents, calling for unwavering support from the public.

Among the arrested suspects, Adesoji Victor, 19, was caught at the scene of a foiled robbery attempt at a supermarket in Ado Ekiti. The Command Counter Terrorism Unit swiftly responded, leading to the arrest of Victor and the recovery of weapons, including a locally made pistol. Additionally, Samuel Michael, Adebayo Lateef, Opeyemi Adelusi, Daramola Ariyo, and Wasiu Ariyo were apprehended along the Omisanjana axis of Ado Ekiti for suspected drug-related offenses and cybercrimes.

Furthermore, Ayodele Ayomide and Oladapo Agbe were arrested for breaking into a church and stealing a generator, with the CTU acting on information from a concerned citizen. Finally, Osalusi Ayo and an accomplice were implicated in the theft of an air conditioner.

The Counter Terrorism Unit issued a stern warning to criminals in the state, indicating that intensified efforts would be made to eliminate criminal activities. Agboola reiterated the collaborative approach to security, urging all stakeholders to contribute to maintaining peace and order in Ekiti State.
