Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Igboho, made a triumphant return to Nigeria, attributing his arrival to divine intervention amidst allegations of an assassination plot orchestrated by the government. The Yoruba Nation agitator, back in the country ahead of his mother's burial in Oyo State, addressed his supporters in the Saki area, delivering a fiery message in Yoruba language.

Igboho levied serious accusations against President Buhari, accusing him of deploying the Department of State Services (DSS) and soldiers to silence him. He claimed that his vocal opposition to the activities of Fulani herders, particularly their alleged killings of farmers in the Southwest, had made him a target of the government's wrath.

"Buhari sent his soldiers and DSS to arrest me in my house because I said Yorubas are not slaves to Fulanis, they can’t suppress us in our father’s land," Igboho declared defiantly to his followers. He emphasized that the Fulanis could not impede the rights of Yoruba farmers to work on their land and vowed to continue his advocacy for the liberation of his people.

Asserting his return with the backing of divine authority, Igboho expressed confidence in his cause and his ability to resist any attempts to silence him. "But, I’m back with the power of God and authority not that of man," he proclaimed, signaling his unwavering resolve to confront the challenges facing the Yoruba people.

As Igboho's return ignites fresh tensions in the region, his bold stance against perceived oppression and injustice resonates with many who view him as a champion of Yoruba interests. However, his allegations against the government raise concerns about the state of democracy and freedom of expression in Nigeria, underscoring the deep-seated divisions that continue to plague the nation.
