The successful rescue operation conducted by the police in collaboration with vigilantes in Omupo District, Kwara State, resulted in the liberation of three abducted victims and the apprehension of several kidnappers.

According to reports, the victims, two Fulani women, and one of their husbands, were kidnapped from their camps near Gaa Sulu village over the weekend. However, swift action was taken by hunters and vigilantes from Miyetti Allah, in coordination with law enforcement authorities, to track down the perpetrators and secure the release of the abducted individuals.

During the operation, there was an exchange of gunfire between the rescuers and the kidnappers, resulting in the death of one of the armed abductors. Additionally, five other suspects were arrested in connection with the abduction.

The successful outcome of the joint operation highlights the effectiveness of collaborative efforts between local security forces and community members in combating criminal activities such as kidnapping. It also demonstrates the commitment of law enforcement agencies to ensuring the safety and security of residents in Kwara State.

The spokesperson for the Kwara State Police Command, Toun Ejire-Adeyemi, confirmed the incident, underscoring the importance of community involvement in tackling security challenges and bringing perpetrators to justice.
