Gen. Christopher Musa, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), emphasized the importance of avoiding negative speech and curses directed towards Nigeria and its leaders. He cautioned that Nigerians should recognize the potency of words and their ability to cause harm.

Speaking at a seminar organized by the Defence Correspondents Association of Nigeria (DECAN) in Abuja, themed "Civil-Military Relations: Non-kinetic Efforts of the Nigerian Military in Security Management, Challenges and Prospects," Gen. Musa urged Nigerians to adopt a positive outlook towards the nation for progress to occur.

He stressed the need for optimism and positivity, stating that speaking negatively about the country undermines productivity and national development. Gen. Musa highlighted the tendency for some individuals to prioritize the nation's problems over its strengths, which he identified as a hindrance to progress.

Gen. Musa called for constructive criticism rather than constant negativity, urging citizens to hold leaders accountable while offering solutions to challenges. He cautioned against the habit of cursing or wishing harm upon the country or its leaders, emphasizing the importance of nurturing a collective sense of ownership and goodwill towards Nigeria.

In conclusion, Gen. Musa reiterated the critical role of positive speech in nation-building, emphasizing that a united and optimistic approach is essential for Nigeria's growth and development.
