JAPA: Nigeria Youths Need Mentorship Says Ex-Nigeria Ambassador To USA, Kayode Ojo

Former Nigerian ambassador to the United States of America (USA), Dr. Kayode Ojo, has expressed optimism about the future of Nigerian youth and the country, despite the current challenges facing its citizens.

Dr. Ojo, who served as Nigerian ambassador to Spain, the Dominican Republic, Belgium, and the United Kingdom UK, highlighted the resilience, innovation, creativity, hard work, and intellectual capacity of Nigerian youth. He emphasized that Nigerian youth possess qualities that enable them to excel globally and contribute positively to national development.

Speaking at the annual Diplomatic Exposure lecture at Elizade University, Ilara-Mokin in Ondo State, Dr. Ojo commended the university's initiative to expose students to international opportunities through practical experiences shared by seasoned career diplomats.

During his lecture, Dr. Ojo emphasized the potential of Nigerian youth in the global arena and encouraged them to channel their energy towards productivity and sustainable development. He underscored the importance of mentorship and empowerment in harnessing the capabilities of Nigerian youth for the benefit of the country and the African continent as a whole.

The Vice-Chancellor of Elizade University, Prof. Kayode Thadius Ijadunola, praised the performance of students in national and international engagements, reaffirming the institution's commitment to producing globally competitive graduates.

Dr. Tunde Fajimbola, the Head of the Department of History and International Relations at Elizade University, highlighted the university's efforts to transform academic qualifications by ensuring students are not only academically qualified but also professionally and ethically equipped to represent Nigeria positively on the international stage.

Professor Omolola Oladunni Irinoye, Vice-Chancellor of Achievers University, commended Elizade University for its achievements and expressed optimism for its continued growth and success.

The Chairman of the 2024 Elizade University Diplomatic Exposure, Professor Joseph Fabayo, reiterated the mission to provide students with international exposure to enhance their overall academic experience and contribute to national development.
