The popular Computer Village was on Thursday shut down and commercial activities paralysed as President Bola Tinubu unveils the Red Line Rail project in Ikeja area of Lagos.

Several roads were blocked in Ikeja with hundreds of security operatives, including well armed policemen, civil defence, DSS, soldiers and others on ground.

Large number of people were stranded as there were no vehicles to convey commuters to their destinations. The few available vehicles hiked their prices as demand is higher than the supply.

There was extremely tight security. Many journalists were harassed and turned back, even with their tags by overzealous federal security operatives.

Part of Obafemi Awolowo Road inward the bridge was shut. Medical road was also shut as security operatives took over the area.

DSS operatives were seen chasing after hoodlums or anyone caught videoing the ugly scene around the area.

However, the Red Line rail project is a 37 Kilometer North South rail route proposed to run from Agbado to Marina with 13 stations at Agbado, Iju, Agege, Ikeja, MMIA International, MMIA Domestic, Oshodi, Mushin, Yaba, Ebute meta, Iddo, Ebute Ero and Marina.
