A devastating fire incident on Olorunshogo Street in Ejigbo, Lagos State, has resulted in the tragic death of a three-year-old boy identified as Michael. The heartbreaking incident, which occurred on Saturday, March 2, sent shockwaves through the community as residents grappled with the aftermath of the blaze.

According to eyewitness reports, the fire outbreak was sparked by a candle that had been lit in one of the rooms within a compound on the street. Tragically, the flames quickly engulfed the room and rapidly spread to engulf a total of ten other rooms in the compound.

Despite efforts to contain the inferno, young Michael was unable to escape the rapidly spreading flames and was tragically consumed by the fire, sustaining fatal burns in the process.

The devastating blaze not only claimed the life of the innocent child but also resulted in the destruction of properties valued at millions of Naira within the compound. The intensity of the fire left a trail of devastation in its wake, leaving residents reeling from the profound loss and destruction.

As investigations into the cause of the fire continue, the Ejigbo community mourns the loss of Michael and extends heartfelt condolences to his grieving family. The tragic incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers posed by fire outbreaks and underscores the importance of adhering to fire safety protocols to prevent further tragedies in the future.
