Doha, March 3, 2024 - President Bola Tinubu of Nigeria, currently on a state visit to Qatar, emphasized Nigeria's commitment to combat corruption and foster a favorable business environment during the Nigeria-Qatar Business and Investment Forum in Doha.

Addressing Qatari investors on Sunday, President Tinubu urged them not to engage in bribery with Nigerian government officials. He emphasized his administration's determination to eradicate corruption and assured investors of a conducive atmosphere for business operations.

"We are dedicated to reforming our systems and eliminating corruption. Your investments will be safeguarded, and we encourage you to report any instances of bribery," stated President Tinubu, highlighting the importance of transparency and accountability in business dealings.

President Tinubu emphasized Nigeria's readiness to overhaul its reputation as a corrupt nation and urged investors not to be deterred by past perceptions. "Nigeria is serious about revolutionizing investment promotion. We are removing obstacles to investment and ensuring smooth entry and exit of funds," he affirmed.

Furthermore, President Tinubu highlighted recent strides in Nigeria's fight against corruption and insecurity, citing the appointment of Nuhu Ribadu, a renowned anti-corruption advocate, as the National Security Adviser. He assured investors that Nigeria is open for business and underscored the integrity of the nation's leaders in facilitating fruitful collaborations.

"A nation is only as strong as its people. We have the talent and dedication to drive Nigeria's progress forward," President Tinubu concluded, emphasizing the role of capable individuals in nation-building.
