A 23-year-old Kano-based commercial Tricyclist, Awwalu Salisu has been offered a scholarship up to PhD level to the tune of N250 million.

He got the scholarshp after he returned a cash of N15 million left in his tricycle by a Chadian businessman in 2023.

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, Peter Obi, was the first to offer Awwalu scholarship at the Abuja-based Baze University up to PhD level.

Thereafter, Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umar Bago said the Labour Party cannot be allowed to outshine the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC and then Bago announced a N250m scholarship award to Awwalu to appreciate his act of honesty and to encourage other young Nigerians to imbibe the virtue.

He said Awwalu will get a N50m scholarship each from him personally, President Bola Tinubu, his Ministers, APC Governors Forum and Niger State government.

Bago added that he would name one of the road projects he was undertaking in Niger State after the Kano Keke rider.

Honesty and character is everything in the north, you just can't lose it, no matter what you are going through. If you lose, then you've lost everything.

Same north that mass kidnapping for Ransom is a booming business? How much? Just N15 Million. Didn't you hear about the Igbo girl from Rivers State working in a hotel in Lagos? Do you know how much in hard currency that she returned? I have heard of an Edo man that did more in Asia sometime last year or two. Either in Korea or Japan. Edo is in the Southern part. Fvck northerners and their honesty scam ! Buhari was Mr. Integrity, wasn't he? Well, Mr Integrithief if you ask me.

The divide that happened on a Saturday, the 15th day of January 1966 is still in existence after all the decades that have gone by.Pitobi ain't sh!t in the North no matter what he does;matter of fact most grassroot electorates do not know of his existence in the political scene up there.
